Licensed/Non-Licensed Optician Position Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Licensed/Non-Licensed Optician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting prescriptions written by optometrists and ophthalmologists, dispensing eyewear to customers, and providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities Include:
- Greeting customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Interpreting prescriptions written by optometrists and ophthalmologists
- Assisting customers in selecting and purchasing frames and lenses that best meet their specific needs
- Providing expert assistance with frame and lens selection, including style, material, and color options
- Accurately measuring customers' pupillary distance and fitting frames
- Adjusting and repairing eyewear as required
- Educating customers about the proper care and maintenance of their eyewear
- Assisting with general office duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing inventory
- Performing daily administrative tasks with precision and accuracy
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications:
- License to practice opticianry (if required by state law)
- High school Diploma/GED
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Proficient in using computer software and navigating digital systems
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask
- Demonstrated customer service experience
- Knowledge of current eyewear trends and fashions
- Experience with repairing frames and lenses
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
