About the Position
We have an opportunity for a fabulous Optometrist in a multi-OD private practice with state-of-the-art equipment and excellent support!
The successful candidate should be thorough, detail-oriented and, most-of-all, caring about the patients, business, and the profession.

You will have a dedicated technician each day, plus further support technicians for specialty examinations and contact lens training. A steady pace with two examinations per hour, and full digital exam lanes, give you the opportunity to really make the patient experience memorable and create patients-for-life who return with their family and refer their friends!

Job Description
Optometrist responsibilities include analyzing vision diagnostic tests, identifying sight problems, and prescribing corrective lenses and eyeglasses. To be successful in this role, you should have attention to detail and be able to treat all kinds of patients with kindness and discretion, from young children to the elderly.

To qualify for this role, you must be state-licensed, or in the process of obtaining your license, and possess in-depth knowledge of eye-related disorders, conditions, and treatment. The ideal candidate will be customer service-oriented with excellent analytical and communication skills.

This job requires candidates to be able to perform duties that include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide patient care related to contact lenses and the diagnosis and treatment of anterior segment disease
  • Screen and manage common ocular diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration & others
  • Participate in the co-management of surgical patients by providing patient education, pre-operative considerations & evaluations, and post-operative care
  • Work with juvenile patients providing comprehensive eye care and identifying early vision-related problems
  • Provide specialized care to patients over the age of 65, with a focus on conditions such as macular degeneration, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma
  • Consult with patients about nutritional supplements to protect their vision and ocular health
  • Clearly document diagnosis and treatment plan, including referrals, therapeutic prescriptions, and long-term medical management, in patients’ charts
  • Handle eyecare emergencies in the most appropriate manner for each situation
  • Build strong doctor-patient relationships
  • Promote eye health by teaching patients about proper eye care techniques
  • Maintain accurate medical files for all patients
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality of records and protected health information as per HIPAA and compliance laws

Position Requirements

  • Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree
  • Must possess a state-issued license for the practice of optometry
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • In-depth knowledge of eye-related disorders and conditions
  • Patient service-oriented with excellent analytical skills
